Dear Dan & Tash

Dear Dan and Tash,
sorry we made you walk for so long to get to where we were going. Sorry you had to wear gum boots. Sorry the water kind of stunk. Sorry that there were little bitey thingys everywhere. If it makes you feel better, we both lost pairs of shoes that day - we both had bites all over us we both kind of smelled a little when we got home.
We may or may not make you do something similar on your wedding day. Undecided.
Love Steve & Jess xxoo

Cake Smash!
- February 15th 2011 • Posted by: Jess Marks • Categories: Portraits
Ashton is becoming a little bit of a regular on our site - he appeared earlier last year in his mum and dad's engagement shoot and then again in their wedding photos last August. But, this time it was all about him. Ashton recently celebrated his first birthday (happy birthday Ashton!), so, we thought it was about time that he had a shoot all for himself.
We did a bit of the shoot in the park near our studio in Nundah and then finished off in our front yard, where we presented him with a birthday cake - it was all his to do what he wanted. At first he kind of just starred at it thinking Im sure: "surely that cant all be for me?!". After some trepidation and gentle persuading, he finally worked out he would not be in trouble for sticking his hands in the cake and eating it. Admittedly, he spent more time treating it like a drum rather than eating, but, he was pretty delighted either way.
Fastest way to get rid of a cake!

Engagement Shoot

A little while back we did an engagement shoot for Ange, Todd and their adorable little dog Hughey in Nundah. It was great to spend some time getting to know them before their wedding next year. I must also say that Hughey is one of the cutest little dogs ever, and a little easier to manage than the boxer dog that we met on the shoot - he almost knocked Steve over while taking a photo (not that I have anything against boxer's - my family used to have one) Anyway... here's a few photos from the shoot.

Hong Kong Lovers!! Woo Woo!!
- August 25th 2010 • Posted by: Jess Marks • Categories: Portraits
Well.. more like, "Australian's living in Hong Kong", Lovers. (that makes perfect sense in my head...)
As if planning a wedding is not stressful enough, planning it from Hong Kong I assume would be doubly as difficult. Fortunately though, when you are one stylish bride, like Marcela, its a piece of cake. (hows this for a segway...) Speaking of one stylish bride, Marcela also happens to be the chief blogstress at www.onestylishbride.com (i have now said one stylish bride 4 times in 2 sentences) - the definitive collection of all things wedding. So, I will suggest, that if you are getting married - you must visit www.onestylishbride.com (5 times).
So, back to the story. Michael and Marcela have been in Australia for a few days organising some wedding stuff, so, they wanted to get an engagement shoot done whilst here. Sadly, on the day we had planned it - it was raining (not surprisingly unideal weather for a picnic engagement shoot). So, we postponed it a day... and at least got fine weather... though, not the beautiful sunny afternoon we had hoped for. None the less... a fun time was had by all and we are very much looking forward to shooting their wedding next month at Albert River Winery.
