Cooroy Wedding

David and Milli met while working together at a property development company.  Despite not having the best first impressions, the pair became friends and after David asked her out about 8 times, Milli finally agreed! They were engaged at Little Cove, a protected bay at Noosa, then had a surprise family barbecue to announce the engagement.

The pair were married on 9 June 2012 in Noosa.  “Winter in Noosa is normally dry and mild,” says Milli, “but not so this year, due to La Nina!”  The ceremony was shifted from the Botanical Gardens to the Cooroy Anglican Church so guests wouldn’t be ankle-deep in mud.  The reception was at Thomas Corner, the couple’s favourite place to dine.

“We didn’t really have a theme but we just wanted it to be fairly casual, relaxed and genuine.”

The couple did a “first look” at the gardens before the ceremony.  “I would totally recommend this,” says Milli, “it’s so nice to meet your partner and see their outfit before everyone else.  It really calms the nerves before you hit the church.”

Despite the rain, the day cleared up enough to have some photos taken in the Gardens, as well as the Noosa River.  “We also had a photo booth, which was great,” says Milli.  “So many of our friends are using these as their Facebook pics because the lighting is so flattering.  We all look like movie stars!”

“Jess and Steve were fantastic.  I really loved their style when I first came across them and they certainly lived up to all of our expectations – very cinematic.  We loved their hard work and attention to detail.”

Milli has some tips for other brides-to-be.  “Put a big list of jobs on the fridge and cross them off one by one – very satisfying!  Provide plenty of seating if you have a cocktail reception.  Don’t get addicted to wedding blogs!  If I was to go back in time, I would probably hire a wedding planner to take care of the logistics, so I would have more time for the fun stuff!”
