One more from Nepal
I was just going through our Nepal photos again - meaning to work on them but accidentally spent the whole time just looking at them (there are a lot of photos!!) But this is one photo that I'd actually forgotten about that I really like. I can't remember exactly where we were when we took this (will have to ask Steve and when he can't remember either consult my metadata and try to work it out that way!) but it was after our trek and before we both got food poisoning- those are our 2 reference points from the trip...
Steven & Sarah’s Wedding
This is another "re-blog' post (another wedding that did not get transfered across from the old site).
We started the day of at the Cilento Hotel at Mooloolaba and I remember us knocking at the hotel door - to be greeted by a very nervous Steven! The ceremony and reception was held at "On Mountain View" in Maleny, which really is a spectacular venue - the views are amazing.
Sarah travelled up from the coast in an old vintage stretch limo - which was sweet! But, also very slow... and having to get up the range, it took some time. Totally worth it though, as it really was a beautiful car. Fitting for such a beautiful venue and couple!
Megan and Chris’ Wedding
It's that time of year where the wedding season gets a wee bit quiet and we get to take it easy (for a short while anyway). This year continues to be our busiest year so far which makes us feel all warm and fuzzy inside (as it must mean people like our work!?! right?). Since we are all up to date with our blogging, we thought to get everyone through the winter July, we would post a couple of older weddings that did not get carried over across to the new website. So, we will start with Megan and Chris.
For anyone that has been to our studio or seen us at a wedding expo (or received a printed price list), you should recognise the photo of Megan as the ginormous canvas we have hanging up (it's the red one incase you don't know). We like this photo a lot.. as it has such vibrancy and texture to it. People often ask us if the bricks in the back ground are fake... nope - "el naturale" baby.
In short... the wedding took place at Bretts Wharf at Hamilton - service, photos and reception. Enjoy the photos....
Ben & Lily Make Cupcakes
Since getting our new Canon 5D we haven't had much of a chance to play with shooting video, but have been wanting to try doing something with it. So a few weekends ago we went down to my sister's house to do a shoot of our lovely niece and nephew. So after about 50 patty pans (we didn't realise they'd used about 5 patty pans per cup cake!) and way too much sugar being consumed this is what we came up with.
*sigh* ... Holidays…
Well it's been about 6 months since we returned from our trip to Nepal, I've been seeing so many people on facebook are heading off on adventures overseas and it was making me feel a little blue so I decided to have a flick through some of our photos from the trip and I came across these ones. These are actually shots Steve took (I was tucked up in bed feeling very sorry for myself with a nasty cough) after we arrived in Khumjung, a little village at about 3790m.
The first few shots were taken at the Sir Edmund Hillary School, as we trekked into the village we could see all the kids sitting out in the sun (too cold in the classroom that time of year). After a bite to eat the boys in our tour group headed down to play soccer with the kids - I'm pretty sure the kids won - running around at that altitude is pretty tough! I thought this first image was quite amazing, those huge mountains (especially when you think that this is already 3.7km above sea level) with the kids playing soccer in the foreground. Compared to our lives in Australia it is just so incredible to think people live out there, some how I don't think Mt Coot-tha quite compares... which stands at a mega 287m ![]()
The last few photos are of the tea house we stayed at as the fog rolled in... whenever we approached the tea house (which always seemed to be up hill!) the questions of, 'will there be a western toilet' and 'please let there be something different on the menu' was always spoken - one thing we never had to ask and was always guaranteed... the view out of our window!
