Your Sitting
We allow from 1 - 2 hours for your sitting, generally we can well and truly have it finished within 1 but it's nice to know we can take things slowly if little ones get a little grumpy or take a little while to warm up to us. We have a fairly candid approach to our shoots so for toddlers you don't have to worry about them sitting still - we want to capture them being toddlers after all! Included in your sitting fee is an online gallery for you to share with family and friends and also a $50 print credit.
Where
We generally shoot our portraits either in your home or in a park - it's totally up to you! We find it's much easier to take photos of children when they're on their own turf (or at least familiar turf) We want them to be totally comfortable, we also find that it's much more personal and more of a true reflection of them if its shot somewhere that means something to you!
For new borns, the ideal place for photos is at home where you don't have to worry about packing up the nappy bag, bottles, stroller, baby etc etc and you and bub can both be comfortable. If you have a room that's nice and bright with little to no clutter and somewhere for your baby to lie down this is the perfect location for the photos (quite often a bedroom)
When
Simply call or email to find out when we're available for your shoot. We offer a discounted rate for week day shoots as we are often busy shooting weddings on weekends. We can accommodate your needs - if you know your child will be happier in the morning then definitely book in for a morning shoot!
If your wanting teeny, tiny new born photos, we find it's best to do them in the first 1-2 weeks, this is when they're still so tiny, generally sleep a lot (which looks SO cute in new born photos) and they'll still curl up into a little ball. Otherwise it's good to wait until their a few months old when they start to be a bit more expressive (and not just because they have wind)
What should we wear
Plain clothes are the best choice - try to avoid big logos and large patterns as it can be quite distracting in the photos, we want the focus to be on you not your clothes! If you're getting a group shot try to wear clothes that blend together - we obviously don't want anything that clashes :-)
Purchasing
About 2-3 weeks after your shoot we'll get you to come into our studio in Nundah to view your images, we will also show you all the different printing options for your beautiful photos. If any friends and family wish to buy prints they'll also be able to purchase them online.
