Put on your Dancing Shoes!

It is something that a lot of brides may not think about. But, wearing a pair of heels all day is not always the most comfortable thing (needless to say, especially if you're not someone that wears heels often). Sometimes fashion needs to make way for comfort!

Carla did a quick shoe change before heading into the reception and put on her Converse shoes - waaaaay more appropriate for dancing! So, sure, you can wear your cons on your wedding day - truth is, after the ceremony, no one much is going to be looking at your feet anyways.

So.. bring a spare pare of comfy shoes to your wedding. Your mum might not like you for it.. but your feet will.

Mmmmm Bonbonniere

Personalised M&M's - what a sweet idea!  We came across these a while ago (were going to get some made for a bridal expo but were too scared we'd eat them all before the show! - and by we, I mean "Steve")

It seems you can get M&M's made in colours of your choosing - to match the colours of your wedding and get text or pictures printed on them.  We thought it sounded pretty cool and something a bit different to the boiled lollies that have your names in them. That said, on our recent trip to Cairns, we found a place that also makes custom candy - and, it is absolutely incredible watching them make it.

You can check out the M&M's at My M&M's .... and have a look at the custom boiled candy here: Kuranda Candy

How to tie a tie

If we had $1.99 for every time a groomsmen asked us how to tie a Windsor - well, we would go and buy them each a copy of the "How to tie a tie" iPhone App. Though.. they also have a free version which is just as useful.

Seriously, this is a pretty handy App which shows you twist by twist, fold under by fold over - how to tie a tie. Not just a windsor tie, but, half windsor's, Kelvin's Plattsburg's Oriental's, St Andrew's... and the list goes on.

When I was in high school.. I had someone tie my tie at the start of the year, and then I slipped it on and off for the rest of the year - probably not a suggested practice for your wedding.

Click here to Download the App from the iTunes Store.

Wedding T-Shirts

Here's a collection of wedding related T-Shirts that I thought were kinda neat. Honestly, Im not sure when you would wear them (bucks/hens?) - but, if your getting married and feel the need to let everyone know, then perhaps these are the way to go. Actually, the whole website is a great place to find some inspiration in general - there are some pretty talented designers who have their gear up there. Obviously its not all strictly wedding related.. but, if you are looking for something different - its definately worth  a peak.

There are a whole bunch of T-Shirts and all sorts over at Red Bubble.

To veil or not to veil

I thought it was about time this part of the blog had some female input so I thought I'd do a little post on veils.  There are SO many different styles of veil to choose from or even the question of do you wear a veil at all?  I thought I'd do a little research about the history of the veil and apparently, "...in the old days of arranged marriages, the groom rarely saw his bride at all before the wedding day. If she was ugly, a veil might have prevented him from running away."  hmm... maybe not the angle we're going for here.

I am by no means an expert on veils and accessories but I guess at the end of the day it has to complement your dress and you need to feel comfortable.  When I was deciding to have or not to have a veil I tried a few on and it just didn't feel like me so I wore a flower in my hair instead, some people even do a swap-aroo and wear a veil for the ceremony and fascinator for the rest of the day.  Anyway, here's a few images of veils/hair pieces.
