Fort Lytton Wedding
I remember quite clearly the first time we met with Kate and Daniel, as it was only a couple weeks before Jess and I got married (last September). We were pretty hectic, as we had weddings to shoot on all the weekends leading up to our wedding... and on top of that, we had a wedding to shoot the Wednesday before our own wedding (and for the record, we shot 3 weddings the weekend after we got married!! Crazy times). As if all that were not busy enough... we wanted to check out the Ideal Bride Expo (which we would be exhibiting at), of course though, the only chance we got to check it out, was the night before our wedding (is it just me, or am I saying "wedding" and "married" a lot in this post?).
Where am I going with all this? Oh.. right.... whilst we were at the (Ideal Bride) show we ran into Kate and Daniel (who we had just met with a couple days prior) - so, it must have been fate or something. Funnily enough, we bumped into Kate at another bridal show (The Wedding Guide) some months later... (Kate, believe it or not, we don't always spend our friday evenings hanging out at bridal shows). The point is though, we are so very glad we had the opportunity to shoot this wedding. All the pieces fell into place beautifully - beautiful people, beautiful locations... beautiful wedding.
When Kate told us she wanted to have the photos done at Fort Lytton.. we were pretty excited. (Though credit should go to Daniel for suggesting Fort Lytton in the first place). If you have not been out there, it really is worth a look. As I have said before, if this little fort was all that stood between Brisbane and the Japanese in WWII - well, Im pretty sure we would have been toast. But, it sure makes for a sweet spot to have wedding photos taken. It's a bit of a process getting permission to shoot there.. but it's well worth the effort incase you are thinking about it.
Anyway... I feel I have been rambling enough.
