Noosa Springs Wedding
After all our complaining about all the rainy weather we've had in recent times - it was a particularly nice change to have a beautiful sunny day for Belinda and Reynard's wedding at Noosa. It was a nice and small wedding at Noosa Springs - just some family and close friends. It was important for them to spend much of the time with their guests, so we kept the photography side of things to pretty much photojournalistic coverage only (it was our secret mission to try and get a nice portrait of just the two of them.... I think we did well).
We don't very often post client feedback on our website, but, I thought I would share this email Belinda sent me after she saw her photos:
Thanks Steve & Jess!! The photos are so perfect and exactly what we wanted. You did such a fantastic job of capturing all those little, special unrehersed moments during our day. Have had only had time to have a quick look through (you can guess what I will be spending serious time on the weekend doing!) but already so many of the photos make me laugh and other make me want to cry (good tears). I thought the ones Steve took of Reynard hanging around while Mum tried to put the flowers on the boys suit jackets were really great and very apt (Reynard does a fair bit of relatively unhelpful hanging around at times). Anyway thanks again so much for capturing our day so beautifully. We will no doubt be in touch soon.
I think that feedback, particularly after the "Grandparents and Nose Picking" post from yesterday make Jess and I feel pretty good about what we do. But as wedding photographers we don't want to make the day about us, or just the photos. The day should be you, doing what you're doing - enjoying the moments, having a good time, taking a minute to stop and take everything in (before the day ends - which it does so quickly) and of course remembering that it is the most important day in your life together as a couple. If you can do all that, then the photos will take care of themselves. Jess and I are no one special in the scheme of your wedding day, we are not there to be the stars of the day, we are not there to make you feel awkward (or camera aware). You, your partner, your friends and family are the real rockstars of the day - and that's why your photos will beautiful - because of you, not us.
