Most families book their newborn photo session within the first two weeks, when babies are tiny and often sleepier. But there’s really no “perfect” age — beautiful photos can be taken at any stage, whether your baby is days, weeks, or months old. You can read more about to benefits of different ages here

The most important thing is that you feel comfortable and like yourself. Choose clothes that make you feel good and allow you to move and cuddle freely. Neutral tones tend to photograph beautifully and keep the focus on your connection, but if you love colour or patterns, that’s perfectly fine too — it’s about your family’s personality. For your baby, try outfits that fit well (not too loose), as oversized clothes can bunch up and hide those sweet little faces.

Never! If your baby is past the newborn stage, that’s totally fine. Older babies (around 2–3 months) are more expressive and alert, which makes for gorgeous, personality-filled photos.

All newborn photography sessions are held in your own home here in Brisbane. That means no stressing about traffic, weather, or getting out the door on time. I love photographing families in their own spaces — where everyone feels relaxed and where so many of your baby’s first memories will be made.

That’s completely okay — babies are babies! You can take breaks to feed, cuddle, or settle your little one anytime. My newborn photography sessions are unposed and baby-led, so we go at your baby’s pace. I want your photography session to be as enjoyable and stress-free as possible.

You’re definitely not alone — most of my clients tell me the same thing (and honestly, I feel the same way!). My approach to newborn photography is completely relaxed and unposed. You don’t need to perform or look at the camera; just hold your baby, chat, and be yourselves. I’ll quietly capture all the natural, genuine moments as they unfold.

I take on a limited number of newborn photography sessions each month to balance work and family life, so I recommend getting in touch once you know you’d like photos. That said, if your baby has already arrived — please still reach out! There are sometimes last minute dates available and I often photograph babies a little older, once they’re smiling or sitting, so there’s no “too late” when it comes to capturing your baby’s story.

If you have older children, the Family Story or Full Story Session options are ideal. They allow more time for everyone to relax and for siblings to feel involved (and not rushed - their life has just been turned upside down with a new family member after all!). Kids can show me their toys, their room, or just play while we capture natural family moments. A Short & Sweet Session can also work if you prefer something quicker — I’ll just take a slightly more guided approach to make the most of the time.

You’ll be able to download all your photos easily and print them wherever you like — there’s no hard sell or limits. You can also order professional-quality prints directly through your gallery if you’d like.
