There are so many things to think about while expecting a newborn baby and so many things to buy! And I’m sure some people wonder if it’s really worth spending the money on newborn photography - especially if you’re not really into the super posed, baby in a bucket, style of photography. Well, obviously, I’m a photographer, I’m going to tell you it’s definitely worth it… but here are some reasons why.

ONE: Selfies are Great but..

While selfies are great, a photo taken without having to hold a phone is always going to be better. The most important reason for hiring a photographer for your newborn photos is that you can all be IN the photos.

TWO: Be Present

And following on from No.1 - when you aren’t worrying about taking selfies, you can be completely present with your newborn baby and your photographer can capture all those beautiful, natural moments with your newborn baby. No need to awkwardly pose, just soak in all the newborn goodness.

THREE: Time flies

We all know it, but it’s worth adding to the list… newborn babies grow and change incredibly quickly. Capturing those little fingers wrapped around yours, or your newborn baby being held safe in your arms are definitely reasons to have a professional photographer capture your newborn baby.

FOUR: Last a Lifetime

The investment might seem a lot when adding up all the other things you need BUT, if you think about how many years you are going to be able to look back and enjoy those photos for - it’s really priceless. (And if you need to justify it to someone, just divide the price by the number of years - your life + your babies life = a long time!)

FIVE: Soak it all in

Having a professional newborn photography session gives you the chance to really sit back and reflect on your new life with your new little baby. A chance to relax and enjoy the cuddles while I photograph you without having to worry about anything else going on in your life.
